Villa Sapi, Lombok Island
It seems like we have a thing for the Indian Ocean ,and if you have visited one of those ‘heaven on earth’ destinations set in middle of nowhere in the Indian Ocean, you will understand why. For example, Villa Sapi on Lombok Island in Indonesia, mixes the classic holiday destination with a Villa that sports an unusual design and brings forward a sense of playfulness via vivid hues at their brilliant best.
Canadian architect, David Lombardi, is the man behind this stylish, contemporary villa structure which uses geometric shapes and a blend of patterns to create an inimitable getaway that promises loads of fun along with ample privacy. Deviating from the usual design and the general ‘cubic form’ that is being used by architects, the interiors of Villa Sapi are as special as its exterior. Notice the extravagant use of bamboo, lovely water cascades and inspired artwork.
With sleek, white interiors that reflect a very modern sense of design, accentuated by bright reds, decorative fish ponds and endless ocean views, this is a Villa that packs an array of delights into one cool residence.

Modern Villa in Dominican Republic by A-Cero Architects
When it comes to chilling out and staying relaxed, the Caribbean has a style of its own. Don’t believe us? Just watch the finish of 100m dash at the 2012 Olympics and one Mr. Bolt and you will be forced to concur! Well, that is exactly why the interesting and exotic modern villa designed by A-cero Architects (who also seem to have a distinct style of their own), is the place to be when it comes to cooling off with panache and we mean that quite literally.
Shaped like a skateboard park, the villa is actually designed to tap into the cool Caribbean Sea breeze to ensure things do not hot up too much. Go beyond the distinct exterior and you will see loads of semi-minimalism with all-white backdrops for the interiors and décor crafted in either white or neutral tones.

Seaside Italian Villa, Naples
What is a discussion about design if you do not talk about the famed ‘Italian Craftsmanship’? While this might not be furniture, an Italian villa still seems to carry the same panache and artistry that the country is renowned for. If you wish to call this your ‘dream home’, we would not blame you one bit and located near the Tyrrhenian Sea and also near Mount Vesuvius in Naples, it has a majestic setting indeed.
But, the real magic here unfolds as you enter villa Fabrizia Frezza, which has stayed true to the local style, while merging it with international comfort and aesthetic standards to deliver a real masterpiece. Borrowing from Mediterranean style, the interiors are covered in white terracotta tile, while white-brushed oak floors, moss green curtains and purple cushions and décor give this space an almost ‘divine’ appearance.
The terrace with its pool that gives views of both Mount Vesuvius and the Sea, along with the deck space, are the icing on the cake here.
Must say, I could see myself driving around in a fancy convertible wandering those little streets of Naples – maybe in a vintage red model with the prancing horses on the bonnet; and getting to know more about the whole area. This villa certainly lives up to its Italian heritage! [Courtesy of Houzz]

Beautiful Villa Belvedere, San Francisco
Not everyone wants endless views of the ocean and the mountains and since some of us need to be closer to civilization more often and less on a vacation, a big city makes for a better setting. And so we hop over to the West Coast and very few city skyline views in the world match the iconic image of the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco (We will leave New York out of this). Villa Belvedere designed by renowned architect Sandy Walker, is the very best the city has to offer.
7 bedrooms and two spectacular bay front guest suites, private pool house, another lap pool, gourmet kitchen, terraced gardens, bright and unobstructed view of the Bay Area and pretty much anything else you can think of comes within this 3-story lavish residence.

Secluded Villa Midgård by DAP Stockholm
Sometimes privacy is just as important as exceptional design. While we are not ourselves big stars haunted by the paparazzi, those who are might well prefer a more isolated and secure location like Villa Midgård in Stockholm for a relaxing getaway.. While it is located in a secluded area, the villa itself employs floor-to-ceiling glass windows generously in its design to ensure that there are ample views of the world outside on offer.
The highlight of its design is obviously the see-through pool, which pretty much steals the show, while the clean, uncomplicated interiors offer a peaceful and relaxing setting. It is all about enjoying solitude at its exclusive best.
