Albino D’Amato who decided to present his ready to wear collection for the season of spring & summer 2011 in collaboration with Yves Saint Laurent, said that he was inspired in this collection by the nineties Japanese fashion designers, which was interpreted in designs & unusual textures. The collection consists of a big variety of dresses in both short & long styles, in addition to blouses, tight pants, maxi skirts and suits. Besides black and white, the designer used some strong colors like orange, yellow & mustard in order to bring to the collection the sunny feeling of the summer season, he also used a lot lavender & cement colors. The most shocking in this collection was the materials; Albino depended basically on two kinds: linen crepe and plastified silk which is, in my opinion, not a suitable material for spring & summer at all because, unlike cotton, it brings heat instead of absorbing it. Most of the dresses came strapless except for some few sleeveless ones with high necks. Floral long dresses looked beautiful with simple strapless designs and soft combination between light brown & white. An elegant long black dress looked very attractive as well; strapless with a red satin belt. The designer used a lot of satin belts with dresses which created a stylish look and added more beauty to the dresses. Suits made of this unusual plastified silk were presented in a nice lavender color with some mustard touches, they are composed of jackets whether in long or short sleeves with tight pants.
