Ann Demeulemeester Spring 2011 Ready-to-Wear Collection

Ann Demeulemeester whose name is always related to the Paris fashion week, in her spring & summer 2011 ready to wear collection, wanted to create a futuristic look to the modern women; that was clear in the unusual designs presented and even the tough look of the models. Minimalist style was dominating in the fashion show; the designs, which came in only two colors: black and white, had simple lines without details. The collection contains coats, pants, blouses, jackets, dresses and skirts. Long dresses came with one shoulder and were cut down in the opposite side from the top of the leg. The silk black & white long dress looked more feminine. Skirts had the same shape; tight and cut down. Short dresses were the most beautiful pieces of this collection; simple but elegant especially the white one with big collar and also the black leather one. A black jacket worn on a black & white short dress looked very nice and gave it a more formal look. Coats were unusual pieces to be presented in a summer collection; however they are beautiful with side collars and silk black & white belts, they were presented with both pants and short dresses. Personally, I didn’t like the tough look of the models with bold eyebrows and masculine hair; I think this look was reflected on the designs and didn’t give them their value.
