Designer Angela Chittenden and her colleagues put on a terrific show at the Mercedes Benz Miami Swim Fashion Week. Today, Stylish Eve takes you behind the scenes to talk with the creators of the Beach Bunny 2014 Spring Swimwear Collection, courtesy of Bikini Team TV. Despite the noise and excitement, it was possible to gather some information. According to Angela, the show she presented today grew from nothing more than a hobby. She had a clothing store, and she started designing bikinis for it in her garage. Wouldn’t it be interesting to hear the rest of the story about how that brought her swimwear to center stage in Miami?!

Angela identified four themes for the collection: cruise wear in sophisticated whites and jades; edgy styles with lots of leather, inspired by rocker chicks; Neoprene 80s California surfer girl (Baywatch models); and an ode to tiny bikinis because Irina Shayk, her Russian co-designer, believes in all-over tanning. Irina, a model, has been the “Face for Beach Bunny” ever since she started the company, according to Angela. Irina says Beach Bunny makes “the best sexy swimwear in the world,” and she is excited about now collaborating to design her favorite—the bikini. This is her first visit to Miami, she says, and her first opportunity to observe from behind the scenes. All the designers are having a great time watching their collection wow the crowds on the Mercedes Benz Swim Fashion Week runway, and you can bet they plan to return next year with more innovative swimsuits.
