To feel like a work of art is every woman’s dream and the models that were in the Valentino Haute Couture Autumn/Winter 2013/2014 Collection Show lived that dream. Capturing the look of the Renaissance era, the “big forehead” exposes the features of the face and skin, which was the goal of the of the make-up team. The use of brown mascara and beige, and creamy toners helped to create the “perfect” youthful and fresh face. The hairstylists swept the models hair into elegant buns of old, to compliment the natural look of the models. To complete the overall appearance, the models had high gloss, black cherry manicures.
With perfect faces, the next touch to the night was the magical, almost castle-like decoration of the hotel. The Da Vinci inspired set was beautiful and convincing. The magnificent artwork sealed the deal, creating a mysterious and almost fantasy-like feel. Perhaps a midnight summer’s eve in the realm of Narnia could best describe the mood of the show. Maybe the models felt the runway was like crossing the Bridge to Terabithia? Either way, whichever fantasy world they immersed themselves into as they walked the runway; the models played their part perfectly. It was simply a night of triumph for the Valentino 2014 Fall Haute Couture Collection.
