The theme of the hair and makeup at the Marchesa Spring 2014 RTW Show is dark and edgy. Revlon’s global artistic director, Gucci Westman states, “It’s Gothic romance…. “It’s dressed up, but it’s not the perfect red-carpet look. It has edge.” Using Revlon PhotoReady BB Cream Skin Perfector and PhotoReady Skinlights Face Illuminator in Bare Light, Westman prepped the models’ faces. Creating “a greasy gray eye” with ColorStay Shadowlinks in Charcoal and Lash Potion Mascara in Blackest Black on the top lashes, she finished the eyes by rimming them with ColorStay Eyeliner in Brown and Black.

ColorStay Lip Liner in Plum, with a mixture of Chocoliscious, Black Cherry, and Certainly Red lipstick coated the lips with a touch of Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Adore. To finish off the look she applied powder to create a purple matte lip. Odile Gilbert of Kérastase used Kérastase Mousse Bouffante at the roots of the hair, while applying Ciment Thermique and giving the hair a blowout. Sweeping the hair across the forehead, she attached a piece of elastic in order to glue black feathers down a line in the front of the hair. Lacque Dentelle flexible-hold hair spray finished the models hair. Jin Soon Choi, of Revlon, finished the models look with Darling, a pale lavender polish for the fingernails and toenails. The look was fabulous and complemented the collection with flair and energy.
