I created this watercolor painting because the wooden 5 barred gate is often seen in the English countryside. However, it is slowly but surely being replaced by metal gates.
My watercolor painting “Nature’s first green” of a gorgeous, green hazel leaf reminds me of Robert Frost’s poem : Nothing Gold Can Stay and Nature’s first green is gold .
For this watercolor painting I mixed white in to make the paint opaque. It is painted in a simplistic style, based on various triangles for its composition .
