The coming Chinese New Year falls on 23rd January 2012 and it is the Dragon year. This feast holiday is the most important for the Chinese community. Chinese New Year doesn’t start on the first day as the Christian New Year because it is based on a solar calendar. Celebration of the Chinese New Year starts from the New Year’s Eve until the mid of the month. As a part of the Chinese New Year celebrations, it includes cleaning their houses, traditional decorations are held and the most important is backing cakes and cupcakes. Frankly speaking, baking cakes and cup cake decorations are the fun part of the celebrations. Children share in helping and decorating the cute cupcakes and enjoying the spirit of the feast.
