This sleek contemporary villa is currently under construction on the Emirates Hills Golf Estate, with interior design by Antoni Associates. Through panoramic windows, it reveals a view of the Dubai Marina; the interiors are described by the designers as “sculpted,” and “infused with subtle poetry integrating light, water, landscape, and views.” The “poetry” is shown in clean, uncluttered lines, from the shimmer of the infinity pool to the smooth wood grain cantilevered roof above an outdoor seating area; in the swaying palms and lush tropical greenery that landscapes the site; and in the surprise of an interior courtyard, with its own reflecting pool, seating and sunning areas, and contemporary sculpture accents. While most of the décor is serene neutral shades, there are sprinklings of color everywhere: bold purple lounge chairs, a rainbow-striped rug, clever lighting.
Luxury homes are known for indoor/outdoor living; this villa, however, takes the concept much further. A closer look at the pool area reveals that seating, dining, and entertaining areas are literally suspended over the water — open to the air and sunlight, with gathered curtains at the corners that can be closed for privacy when needed. An open-plan interior can serve a crowd, even in inclement weather: a spacious, vividly colored bar area is handy for beverage service, while a more formal dining table and chairs can easily seat 14 or more. But perhaps the best interior plan of all is the cinema room — a mini-theater with 15 individual lounge chairs and a selection of tables for refreshments. The space is lavish, the luxury is undeniable…and the design has its own poetry, at this new villa being realized by Antoni Associates.
