Carly Cushnie and her business partner, Michelle Ochs, owned the runway at New York Fashion Week as two of the few minority designers on the runway. Both women can easily pass as one of the models flaunting their creations. Carly started working in fashion after she graduated college – learning the craft at houses such as Donna Karan, Oscar de la Renta, and Proenza Schouler; the masters of the universe at complementing a woman’s figure with their designs. It is no surprise that the Cushnie et Ochs Spring 2014 RTW Collection exhibits an undeniable sensuality and sex appeal that people love.


The collection exhibits a sexy, grown woman flair, which makes it no mystery why shoppers, such as Beyoncé, are in love with the collection. The collection hugs in just the right places without necessarily being skintight and leaves nothing to the imagination. The use of elastic straps in the collection is brilliant and reminiscent of the late singer, Aaliyah’s style. The scribble print is ingenious and fresh. The collection is more than red carpet ready; the runway should have been a red carpet in retrospect.
