No matter which way you look, Cliffrock 4 by Antoni Associates delights the eye. From the sleek master bedroom with its platform bed and flat-screen television over a narrow rectangular table, to the white-on-white living area with its wide-angle windows looking out on the ocean, this beachfront apartment (still under construction) is a combination of what Antoni likes to call “barefoot living” and ultramodern design. Vertical screening in pale wood tones gives the rooms visual interest as well as serving as dividers and helping to separate “public” areas from “private” ones. Bright abstract art, as well as geometric-shaped, reflective coffee tables, make no bones about being on the cutting edge, offset by recessed lighting and pure white walls that lend themselves to display of any palette.
But by far, the most striking — and inviting — visual detail is the outdoor area of this apartment. An infinity pool lures bathers to what feels like the very edge of the ocean; after a good swim, guests can relax on bright blue and white loungers or step to the bar area for a quick beverage. All of the home is open to the deck and outdoors, so entertaining is easy with ample room and seating for all, between the open “interior” dining room and the extra alfresco table set up for 8. For privacy and protection from too much sun, horizontal blinds can be used on the walls of glass…but it’s doubtful that the occupants of this apartment will want to use them that much. Views are of the open sea, not of neighbors — and the lifestyle this apartment encourages is truly one of barefoot, relaxed luxury.
