In this Noosa Littlecove (Sun Coast of Australia) project, the order of business was simple but demanding: a new pool, a new wet deck, and a “wow” factor; for all of these ingredients, 4Blue Pools supplied the design answers. Note the vertical-stripe patterned tile, the angular wet deck and terraced steps, and the dramatic up-lighting of both the deck and flowering trees (a “wow” factor in itself!). Wood grain exterior on the house lends a rustic look to this area, giving it as natural a feel as if the pond just magically appeared one day at the edge of the wall. Also note the neat plantings, a touch of tropical green that turns this deck and water feature into a quiet, inviting little courtyard by day or night.
But even more spectacular? The view surrounding — not to mention in — the infinity pool. Dive in one end of that and you might feel as if you could swim clear to the sea…with only the merest stop to float amongst the lush palm and other mature trees on the site. Solar heating keeps the pool’s ambient temperature perfect; comfy nooks tucked to the side of it allow for sunbathing or relaxing at pool’s edge with a book or cup of tea. Up a level from the pool, behind clear glass “railings,” a partially sheltered outdoor lounge area takes even more advantage of the view; entertaining is easy on this level as well, with the alfresco dining area close by. But chances are visitors and owners alike will agree that overall, the pool itself is the star of the show — and will be for years to come.
