Inspired Art Gallery Wedding in Washington, D.C., by EyeWonder Photography
With a backdrop of vintage “records” (used for reception menus!), album covers, and funky art, this couple has a wedding celebration to remember at Washington, D.C.’s Longview Gallery, pictured here by EyeWonder Photography. An outdoor wedding on a rooftop, with city apartments in the background, can be a chancy proposition; fortunately, the weather cooperates with this redheaded bride and debonair groom. Smiling as bright as the sunlight around them, she wears a strapless, classic-lined gown — but her electric-blue wedge shoes are off-the-charts. Her groom presents a striking picture in black suiting with a contrasting white vest, while his men are dapper in gray suits and bright red ties. The maids are pure wonderment in short-sleeved red dresses and vintage necklaces of onyx to match their black heels.
The ceremony is clearly lighthearted; the bride gives guests a high-five as the happy couple processes to the back of the “house” after the vows are said. Then, a truly unique wedding picture comes next, a group shot of not only the entire wedding party but all the guests! A musical theme pervades into the reception, with cassette name cards and album art on tabletops, so it’s only natural that music and dancing would be a central part of the party. Toasts from bridesmaids and groomsmen are only the start of the fun: the bride takes the microphone for a few bars as well. There’s plenty of fun for young and old here, whether playing peek-a-boo or showing off great moves on the dance floor, before the newlyweds are sent on their way under an arch of sparklers…a shining end to a shining day captured by EyeWonder.
