A fireplace mantel is always a perfect background to set up holiday decorations due to the space it provides, in addition to the grand role it plays in the house as being an essential part of each room. The mantel décor is set up in each holiday, including our lovely Valentine’s Day for the year 2013, to show an elegant look of the house and to express our love for our family and friends. For such reason, you will need quite special items to display on the mantel on Valentine’s Day. Some people use candles, heart wreaths and similar simple stuff while others prefer cherished memories in the form of photos, gifts and handmade crafts. They’re all good, you just need to decide which of them is suitable for your budget and spare time.
Speaking about a very romantic night with your family or husband, you may like to add extra decorations such as flower vases, red candles, votives, statues and anything that is heart shaped with much red. If you have a big mirror above your mantel, it is not suitable to display a lot of items as then it will look overcrowded with the reflection of each item in the mirror. It’s better to use elegant candle holders with red candles, flowers, a garland and a few short items to fill in the spaces between the candles. Another good idea is using a big wreath with a wide satin ribbon to hang such that the wreath centers the mirror. Flowers and side accessories are recommended then. In case you don’t have a mirror, everything is possible and you are free to place long and short items as well as crafted objects and statues anywhere you wish.
