Splendid Gardens and Outdoor Living Areas at Habersham by Howard Design Studio

This spot has it all: ivy trailing over walls, banks of gorgeous white flowering bushes, a shining blue pool with spacious deck and loungers, plus abundant green everywhere — courtesy of landscape design by Howard Design Studio of Atlanta. Terraced steps lead up to the home’s front door, with a white stone walk that gleams as bright as the house’s stately façade. Check out the back deck and patio, with its square umber-colored planters, each holding a delightful miniature tree; geometric shrubs with ornamental “balls” in the middle lead to a vine-covered arch and wrought-iron gate. Beneath lantern sconces are trained “trees” that cling to the sides of the home, spreading their branches in neat lines — the perfect “match” for multi-paned doors beside them. And then, as if all of this isn’t enough…there’s a pool, too.

Graceful Grecian columns support a wide portico leading to the deck, with rows of loungers, umbrella-covered tables, and space enough to entertain a crowd — and what a view that crowd will have: all green, water, and sky. If you can resist spending the entirety of a warm day out here, you’ve probably got more self-discipline than most of us. In fact, for most of us, that day would happily segue into a comfy starlit evening around the water, with the sleek tile fire pit keeping the mood as warm as the night. For quieter moments, simply find one of the little nooks — cushioned chairs tucked behind arched alcoves — and settle in with a good book, a cup of coffee, a glass of wine. You’ve got the space and ambience here for a great escape…anytime.
