Keep a look out for the name Adam Opris as we are reasonably sure it will be popping up all over the place very soon. Why? Because he is a photographer who doesn’t think blue sky or outside the box. No, this man is a creative genius who clearly is very keen to break the boundaries of tradition and ignore what everyone before him has done. This man is an original, a one-off, a maverick, but one with a creative eye for detail and impact that is quite mesmerizing. To take pregnancy photographs is always a difficult prospect – especially for those mums-to-be who really can’t quite grasp the fact that when pregnant they are ten times more beautiful and bear no resemblance to a beached whale. This is perhaps where the skill and encouragement of a wonderful professional photographer comes to the fore.

Based out of Fort Lauderdale in Florida, USA, Adam Opris has been breaking with convention for some time and has already gathered quite a reputation for his underwater wedding photography. It should come as no surprise, therefore, to discover that he has branched out into underwater maternity photography too. Having grown up surrounded by water Adam has had a life-long affinity with the water and forever held a strong desire to travel. It was on one of his journeys that he met a world-famous fashion photographer who subsequently taught him all he needed to know about photography to enable him to pursue it as a profession. His website gallery is inspirational and the source of many incredible traditional, as well as underwater images. As he best describes himself: “I have a true passion for photographing moments in people’s lives that will take their breath away every time they see their picture. While on photo shoots I get the same adrenaline rush that I have felt running from elephants, or surfing waves in hurricanes.” [Photos and information provided via e-mail by Adam Opris]
